Simon's talent as a writer emerged at a young age, winning writing competitions in his home town of Stoke-on-Trent before carrying on his success at university where he won various awards for both his writing and directing at Cumbria Institute of the Arts. Later, after graduating with an MA in screen writing from London Guildhall University he went on to lecture at the University of Essex.
Not one to be pigeonholed, Simon’s work spans various genres and he has never been afraid to take risks in his writing.
His first screenplay, "City Rats", reached number 6 in the UK charts and grossed £2.5m at the box office. It was also nominated for various awards at the Slamdance Film Festival in America. (2009). "Estranged" his second feature starring Amy Mansun, James Cosmo, Nora Jane Noone and James Lance was recently picked up for distribution by Steven Schnedier, the producer of the “Paranormal Activity” Series and will be released in 2015.
Since working on his third film, "Convenience", a comedy starring Vicky McClure, Ray Panthaki, Adeel Akhtar, Anthony Head, and Verne Troyer he has continued to show his diversity by completing two horror scripts "Fathom" and "The Dependence" as well as the romantic drama "Before, After and Somewhere In Between".
Recently Simon has been working on numerous projects for both film and television.
